Holistic approach on
awareness-raising and career support

BDABar believes that awareness raising and career opportunities are best facilitated when combined with research, evidence-based advocacy and non-judgmental conversations. Our holistic strategy will simultaneously improve accessibility to the profession and educate the wider community on disability matters.

  • Our Vision

The Founders of Bringing [Dis]Ability to the Bar have a bold and brilliant vision that both the road to the legal profession and the Bar itself can be more accessible and inclusive for all. You can read more about their Vision in our Mission Statement here.

  • Our Team

BDABar is organised and run by a hive of brilliants minds with a diverse range of talents, experiences and outlooks coming together to create a shared goal of enhancing equality at the bar - meet the full team here.

  • Our Journey

It all began with an idea sparked by frustrating lack of effective access to the Bar and the hope of endless possibilities. Find out more about the journey that our Founders Konstantina and James took when creating BDABar here.

  • Our Approach

The importance of effective Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practices cannot be overstated which is why we’re devoted to being a part of implementing essential change at the Bar. Read more about our approach to E,D&I here.

  • Our Work

Within our mission statement (linked here) you can see the range of work we are undertaking which underpin our mission ‘to provide clear and credible information’. We do so through developing collaborative research strategies that seek to identify and address some of the inequalities, injustices and challenges facing aspiring disabled barristers (and society as a whole). Additionally, we aim to provide a two-way mentorship scheme as well as create exclusive mini-pupillage schemes in collaboration with our Chamber-Allies. Find out more about our work here.

  • Your Involvement

BDABar aims to make meaningful and impactful change to ensure representation is at the core of the work undertaken at the Bar. Keen to get involved and support BDABar? Then we’d love to hear from you.
